Proceeds benefit Sun Health’s Memory Care Navigator program and the families it serves

Sun City West, Ariz., April 13, 2026 — Sun Health Foundation’s fundraiser, Food for Thought: A Spanish Fiesta, set for Saturday, April 25, has sold out — a testament to the community’s passion for supporting those affected by dementia. While tickets are no longer available, the public can still make a meaningful impact by participating in the event’s online silent auction or making a direct donation to the Sun Health Memory Care Navigator program.

The Memory Care Navigator program provides free, personalized support, education, and resources to individuals and caregivers navigating the emotional, psychological, and physical challenges of dementia. The program is offered at no cost to participants, and community fundraising is what makes it possible.

Bid in the Silent Auction — Open to All

Even without a ticket to the event, anyone can participate in the online silent auction supporting the Memory Care Navigator program. The auction opens April 20 and runs through April 25, with items available for preview beginning April 17.

Auction items span a diverse array of categories, from experiences and travel to art, home décor, self-care, and food and beverage. Bidders won’t want to miss this curated collection of truly unique offerings, including:

  • The Power Bay: Enjoy an exclusive round of golf for you and 3 of your friends at Topgolf–Glendale alongside Stan Holm, CEO of Banner Del E. Webb and Banner Boswell medical centers and the renowned thoracic surgeon Dr. Brett Broussard.
  • Flights of Your Lifetime: Guided by a former USAF fighter pilot, this dual-flight experience blends adrenaline and awe. First, fly in an Aviat Husky, a rugged backcountry aircraft known for its power and precision. Then, trade engine noise for pure serenity as you soar on a glider flight.
  • Savor with Heart: Gather friends for a heart-healthy private cooking lesson for four at home. Create flavorful dishes with expert guidance, and enjoy curated kitchen tools, gourmet ingredients, aprons, wine glasses, and red wine for a night of connection and cuisine.
  • Sanctuary Escape: Experience a one-night romantic escape for two at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain with luxury accommodations, breathtaking desert views, and an elegant dinner for two at Elements—perfect for reconnecting in refined desert serenity.
  • Wine & Food: Uncorked: Enjoy an intimate wine and food pairing for eight hosted by acclaimed educator Deborah Damery Lazear, CSW. Guests enjoy a guided tasting of five wines—sparkling, white, rosé, red, and dessert—each paired with curated bites.

Why It Matters

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 11 percent of older adults in Arizona have Alzheimer’s disease, and the state is expected to see faster growth in Alzheimer’s cases than any other state except Alaska. Today, 240,000 Arizonans — nearly 60 percent of whom are managing their own health conditions — are providing unpaid dementia care totaling 377 million hours annually.

With the right support, individuals and families can navigate this journey with greater confidence, reduced stress, and improved quality of life. Sun Health’s Memory Care Navigator program exists to provide that support, free of charge.

“Dementia affects far more than the individual. It impacts entire families,” said Nora Hannah, Chief Engagement Officer, Sun Health Foundation. “Even if you couldn’t get a ticket to the event, you can still be part of the solution. Every bid and donation helps us reach more families who need our support.”
